Cookie & Analytics Notice

This page explains what ALASOS stores in your browser and what is measured. It is a plain description of how the site works, not legal advice.

1. Necessary (always active)

  • Sign-in session for your account, library and workspace.
  • Shopping cart contents and checkout state.
  • Your language choice (Arabic / English) and display preferences.
  • Security and anti-abuse protection, including reader and preview protection.
  • Referral program: if you arrive through a partner link (?ref=), an anonymous visitor identifier is stored so the partner is credited. This is a functional part of the referral program you were invited through, not advertising tracking.

2. Analytics (optional — off until you accept)

  • Google Analytics 4 (GA4) measures page and tool usage. The GA4 script is not downloaded at all until you accept.
  • Campaign attribution: if you arrive from a campaign link, the utm_source / utm_medium / utm_campaign values and a coarse channel label are stored for up to 30 days so we can tell which channel is useful.
  • Events carry only page paths, product keys, tool and book slugs, category, tier, language and coarse price ranges. They never contain your name, email, payment identifier or any document path.

3. Marketing

Google Ads conversion measurement. If you allow this category, a completed and server-verified purchase is reported to Google Ads with the amount charged and the payment reference, so we can tell which ads led to a sale. Nothing is reported for browsing, adding to cart, or failed or cancelled payments. While the category is off, Google advertising signals (ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization) stay denied.

4. Purchase records

When a payment is verified, we record the product, amount and timestamp in our own database as a transaction and security record. This is part of running the shop, contains no personal identifiers, and is separate from the optional analytics above.

5. Where your choice is stored

Your preference is stored in your browser's local storage (key alasos.consent.v1) together with a version number and the date of your decision. It is not sent to us and no consent cookie is set. Clearing your browser data resets it, and we ask again after 180 days.

6. Changing your mind

You can reopen the panel below or use the Privacy preferences link in the footer at any time. Turning analytics off stops any further optional measurement immediately. We cannot retroactively delete measurements already sent to Google before you withdrew consent.
