A civil BOQ collection page is arithmetic, not guesswork: quantity × rate for each line, a subtotal, and the percentage add-ons your commercial team has agreed. This tool keeps that chain transparent so the total can be traced back to every line item.
Method and assumptions
- amount_i = quantity_i × rate_i
- subtotal = Σ amount_i
- after preliminaries = subtotal × (1 + preliminaries%)
- after overhead & profit = after preliminaries × (1 + OH&P%)
- total = after overhead & profit × (1 + contingency%)
- Quantities and unit rates are entirely user-entered from the project's own take-off and quotations; the tool assumes no market price.
- Preliminaries, overhead & profit and contingency percentages are applied cumulatively on the subtotal, matching standard BOQ collection-page practice.
- A preliminary decision-support estimate: the result does not replace an approved design calculation or review by a competent authority.
Frequently asked questions
- Does ALASOS supply unit rates?
- No. There is no price database anywhere in the tools. Every rate is entered by you in USD from your own market data.
- How are the percentage add-ons applied?
- Cumulatively: preliminaries on the subtotal, overhead & profit on the result, then contingency on that — the standard collection-page sequence.
- Can I consolidate several disciplines?
- Yes, with the Multi-Discipline BOQ Generator, which rolls up per-discipline subtotals and applies the same add-on chain.
