Productivity Calculator

Estimate duration and labour cost from a user-defined output rate.

Project & Input Data

A rate measured on your site or agreed with the subcontractor — no standard rate is assumed.

Engineering Assumptions

  • Days are effective working days; holidays, weather stoppages and trade interference are excluded.
  • The cost covers labour only — materials, equipment and overheads are excluded.
  • All percentages and inputs are user-defined; the calculation is purely arithmetic and assumes no particular code or specification.

Formula Summary

  • Crew daily output = crew size × output per worker
  • Duration = quantity ÷ crew daily output
  • Crew-days = ceil(duration) × crew size
  • Labour cost = crew-days × daily rate

Engineering Insight

Unit labour cost is the right comparison metric: a bigger crew shortens the duration but only lowers unit cost if output per worker also improves.

Recommended Action

Track actual output weekly, update the entered rate, and re-run the duration before committing to the programme.
